Rapper Tim Dog Caught Dogging Women
Last night, as I watched NBC Dateline, laughter grabbed me for almost an hour. I always wondered whatever happened to rapper Tim Dog, best known for his 90s hits “Step To Me” and the infamous “Fuck Compton”.
As a Southernor, I never got into the East Coast – West Coast conflict. As I loved both coasts equally, I always found the conflict funny. From the many Roxanne records and the LL Cool J versus Kool Moe Dee conflict, I prefer hearing creative, lyrical, shit-talking instead of reading an article about rappers shooting and fighting in the streets and clubs.
My younger brother and I loved hearing Tim Dog. Tim Dog got you crunk way before Lil John created the genre. I still yell lines from Tim Dog’s songs. Step to meee! Come on! Step to meee! Yea! Step to meee!
Now, I see a Dateline story focused on Tim Dog conning women, even one in Holland. He promised women riches if they gave him money. Then after gaining thousands of dollars from them, what was promised never happened.
In one Mississipi court, he was forced to pay back money. Not all of it. Just some of it.
Of all the bravado I remember from Tim Dog, I couldn’t believe he would stoop so low. I always saw him as a proud black man. And I never thought prideful people would con others out of their hard earned money. Ha! Imagine California rappers DJ Quik and Dr. Dre laughing at Tim Dog’s ass as they watched the Dateline episode.
Has Tim Dog been a fraud all along? I’ll let readers be the judge. Right now, I’m going to listen to one of his songs. Like I touched on before, those songs still gets me crunk. Step to meee! Yea! Step to meee! Come on! Step to meee!
